SENATE PRESIDENT - Statehouse observers says it's becoming apparent that Sen. John Cullerton may have the votes to succeed Emil Jones as Illinois Senate President. No word yet on who may become Senate Minority Leader.

OUR FRIENDS - South Korea's Daewoo Logistics will plant corn in Madagascar, a company official said on Tuesday, with a long-term aim to replace more than half the corn it currently imports from mostly the United States.

ECONOMIC UPDATE - Wholesale prices plunged a record amount in October as energy prices fell by the largest amount in 22 years. The Labor Department reported Tuesday that wholesale prices dropped by 2.8 percent in October, the biggest one-month decline on records that go back more than 60 years.

RFS FOR 2009 - The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced Monday that it plans to set the 2009 renewable fuels standard (RFS) at 10.21 percent, the equivalent of 11.1 billion gallons of fuel.
